MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2004           UNDP, 3 NGOs plan justice project for Nigeria The UNDP is joining hands with three other NGOs to establish a project on access to justice in Nigeria, says Ms Joy Ezeilo, a law lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Ezeilo, the Chief Executive Officer of Women's Aid Collective, announced this in Enugu on Thursday. She identified the NGOs as ``the International League for Human Rights (IHLR) and two Nigerian groups'', saying that the project would focus on mobile law clinics and legal education in Nigerian universities. Ezeilo's explanation came at a reception organised for international consultants on the organisational assessment of the two Nigerian NGOs involved. She lauded the UNDP and IHLR for aiding Africa and Nigeria ``to accelerate overall development of justice for the people''. In a response, one of the consultants,Kakuna Karina, praised Ezeilo and other human rights lawyers in Nigeria ``for fighting for the rights of the down-trodden''. The occasion was attended by legal luminaries, NGO volunteers and police officers.
