MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2004           Zamfara loans out 1,000 commercial motorcycles Zamfara government has given out 1,000 motorcycles to members of the state's Commercial Motorcycles Association on loan basis. Presenting the motorcycles in Gusau, Acting Gov. Mamuda Aliyu, said the move was part of the government's effort to fight poverty among the unemployed youths. He tasked beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunity, noting that the motorcycles were given at the rate of N70,000 each. Aliyu restated the commitment of the government to create more jobs for the youths, and called on them ``to support government programmes in order to achieve the desired objectives''. Earlier, the association's chairman, Alhaji Mande Umar, had commended the government for its support. Umar tasked members of the association ``to take the trade seriously'', stressing that they were required ``to complete the repayment within the stipulated period''.
