DAMATURU—Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim has denied the anal sex allegation levelled against a member of his cabinet during the month of Ramadan at the lesser Hajj Pilgrimage performed in Umrah, Saudi Arabia. The Governor, while fielding questions from journalists at the weekly State Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday in Damaturu after his return Tuesday night from the Holy Land denied ever having knowledge of such immoral act by any member of his cabinet. His words: 'This is a wicked rumour perpetrated by his detractors who are bent to spoil the image of the state and the citizens '. Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim, explained that a machinery will be set up by the government to critically investigate the anal sex allegation against any member of his cabinet and two legislators during the month of Ramadan with female NYSC members in Damaturu .
With regard to the construction of Potiskum township roads and drainages which contract was earlier revoked from the Land base Construction Company the governor said the job has now been assigned to the Ministry of Works to carry on the completion of the project on direct labour basis adding that, in less than 3 months the Ministry of Works is expected to complete the project .
In another development, the Yobe State government has released over N10million for the conversion of 3 Islamiyya schools into model Islamiyya Primary Schools to be established in the three senatorial districts of the state. In a press release issued by the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Home Affairs Alhaji Dawa Mai Gari on the outcome of the 24th executive council meeting held on Wednesday the three Islamiya Primary Schools would be established in Yobe east, south and north senatorial districts while erection of some additional structures would be added in all the schools.
