North is heading for the rocks if�MP

A MEMBER representing Ungogo/Minjibir federal constituency at the House of Representatives Alhaji Sani Sale Minjibir has expressed concern on the rate at which the Northern region is fast loosing its old generation of professionals.

Making the observation while briefing a cross section of journalists in Kano, Alhaji Sani Sale Minjibir, said the North is loosing her best brains at a geometric progression.

He told journalists that the North will be in soup whenever the old brand of our seasoned administrators, politicians and other professionals seizes to exist either as a result of death or retirement.

Saleh who highlighted that the most unfortunate situation in the country today, potrays the youth as the most unproductive class of people in the country.

According to him, the youth of today are not fully prepared to step into the shoes of our forebears especially those who have excelled in their chosen trade.

Saleh who said he was just back from the condolence of late justice Muhammad Bello told Newsmen that the late sage had left a vacuum which will be difficult to fill.

The federal law maker stressed the need for northerners to go back to the drawing board and design for themselves a concrete agenda as well as pursue it vigorously for betterment of the generation yet unborn.

While commenting on the attitudes of the Northern representatives as far as the legislative functions is concern said "most of them are not helping metters and they ought to wake up from their slumber".

He revealed that whenever there is serious legislative proceedings most of the Northern representatives refused to stay and make positive contributions, a development that normally put the region at disadvantage position.

On the issue of Budgetary allocation concerning the agricultural sector, he said, the north was glaringly cheated-because the negligible budgetary allocation of 7.5 billion will not cater for one of the most vibrant sectors.

He used the opportunity to criticize the present administration under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, for its deliberate policies to scheme the North out.
