MASSOB in thanksgiving service for Uwazurike

    ALPHONSUS NWEZE, Onitsha

MOVEMENT for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in Idemili North Unit, Nkpor, Anambra State, last Sunday organised a thanksgiving service for the survival of their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike following an alleged plot to assassinate him.

MASSOB called on the United Nations (UN) and other international organisations to call the Federal Government to order over killings and detention of its members.

Preaching at the thanksgiving service held at All Saints Catholic Church, Nkpor, Rev. Fr. Cornelius Ezeiloaku tasked christians to prepare for the second coming of Christ.

He likened the second coming of Christ to the realisation of the Biafran dream, stating that at a time people least expect, the much sought Biafra would be a reality.

The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Ifedi, on his part, commended the courage of MASSOB members to continue in spite of the odds facing them.

He praised their effort and determination to liberate Ndigbo and their kinsmen in the South South from perceived marginalisation in Nigeria.

Fr. Ifedi urged the MASSOB members not to relent in their struggle for the liberation of Ndigbo from the shackles of oppression.

MASSOB chieftain, Comrade F.C. Samuel called on the UN and others to do something drastic now, stating that a stitch in time saves nine.

Comrade Samuel advised South East Governors to desist from alleged acts of sabotage against MASSOB members. He further alleged that some of them who want to be presidential or vice-presidential candidates in 2007 have mapped out plans to destabilise MASSOB.

Over MASSOB 300 members attended the thanksgiving ceremony after which they marched through the streets of Nkpor.
