Gov Tasks Chinese on Investment Kaduna From Agaju Madugba in Kaduna Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has asked Chinese entrepreneurs to exploit the abundant investment potentials in his state. Makarfi, who led a trade delegation to the second Nigeria-China Business and Investment Forum held in Shanghai, China, described Kaduna as investor-friendly and easily accessible from various parts of Nigeria. In a press statement by the governor's Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Muhkta Sirajo, quoted Makarfi as saying government had formulated deliberate policies to enhance the running of legitimate businesses. According to the statement, "Makarfi further pointed out that, with the abundance of mineral and human resources as well as its vast and fertile agricultural land. Kaduna State is particularly not interested in grants or aids but more desirous of serious and genuine entrepreneurs to come and partner with the people of the state to pursue mutually beneficial ventures. "As a way of encouraging exploitation of the state's potentials, governor Makarfi said that government had drawn an elaborate programme of public-private sector partnership, aimed at accelerating economic development." The statement explained that the governor and his entourage visited some industrial and agricultural concerns in China, including Shanghai Wenhua Textiles and Shanghai.
