MTN slashes price, Globacom offers new product
MTN Nigeria Communications has slashed its starter Pack price from N4,980 to N1,980 with effect from today, to mark Nigeria's 44th Independence anniversary.
This promotional offer, according to MTN's Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mrs. Joke Giwa, representing about 60.24 per cent reduction in price, "is aligned with our continuing commitment to the long-term growth and development of the Nigerian telecom sector. We hold the view that our operation is an important catalyst for Nigeria's growth and development believing.
Also, Glo Mobile has launched "ProfitMax", which it said was "a high-yield product that will give unemployed Nigerian youths an opportunity to start their commercial telephone business with minimal investment".
Globacom's Executive Director, Miss Bella Adenuga, said at the launch in Lagos that a starter pack of the product is available to customers at the sum of N4,999, in addition to a free airtime of N500, which is part of Glo Mobile's 1st Anniversary Offer.
The benefits of ProfitMax, Adenuga said: "Outgoing calls to any phone within Nigeria is charged at N21 per minute. Calls to US, Canada and fixed lines in Europe cost just N50 per minute, while those to other destinations cost N65 per minute".
The tariffs, she assured would ensure that commercial telephone operators using ProfitMax earn maximum margins on calls.
"In addition to the attractive features on the package, Glo Mobile is giving a bonus of 15 per cent to subscribers who use N20,000 airtime and above within a month. For instance, if a subscriber recharges his prepaid account to the tune of N50,000 in a month, he gets a bonus of N7,500 which is credited to his prepaid account on the 1st of the following month".
ProfitMax customers pay N21 per minute from the first minute of usage for calls made to any phone in Nigeria. A customer can recharge his account even with the popular N500 recharge card and still enjoy the flat airtime rate of N21.
