Group Urges Prosecution of Economic Saboteurs By Andrew Ahiante Landmarkers Group Internationals a Non Governmental Organi-sation (NGO) has urged the Federal Government to prosecute any person or group of persons found to be sabotaging the nation's economy as is done elsewhere in the world. The NGO made the observation yesterday at a world press conference to commemorate the nation's 44th Independence anniversary, emphasising that if evil doers were not punished accordingly to serve as deterrent to others, all the much talk about economic and political reforms will not yield the desired results. "Any person arrested and proven to be sabotaging the nation's economy should be prosecuted. One person's interest should not override the general populace. This has been the missing link. Not punishing people for their wrong doing is to encourage the person and even others to do more", Major General Lai S. Yussuf, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, said. Accordingly, he called for individual and society discipline to give the nation a better image and the desired economic progress, peace and unity.
