Jigawa LGs Await Modalities for Release of Funds From Bala Nasir in Dutse Though pressed by the non release of their funds to start executing developmental projects, local governments in Jigawa State will still have to wait for the state government to finalise adopting new modalities for financial dealings of the councils. This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to governor Turaki on local Government affairs, Alhaji Shahu Umar Chamo. He said, the era of financial rascality in local councils is now over. What was happening before with public money can no longer be tolerated again. This is why the state is redranging for it to come out with a clear out blue print on financial matters he added. "We are not deliberately cash-strapping them of funds just for the fun of it, rather, we are finding a solution to the problem of mismanagement at the councils' level." He appealed to the newly sworn-executives of the local councils to exercise patience as they will soon release their funds to them so as to commence the execution of projects as they promised their electorate. On the polling units funds disbursed every month by the state to its units, the special adviser said, it will continue as usual.
