Unity Schools' Resumption Put Off Indefinitely By Nnamdi Duru Resumption date of the 104 Federal Government Colleges spread across the country has been suspended indefinitely going by the latest directive issued by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) to its members in these schools. The association advised parents of students in unity schools to disregard the information emanating from the Ministry of Education on the resumption date. It warned them not to release their wards to the schools, maintaining that its members will not be accountable for whatever happens. Education Minister, Professor Fabian Osuji in a letter addressed to all unity schools Wednesday, said that efforts at resolving the grievances of workers were yeilding results and thanked the workers for ensuring that academic activities in unity schools resumes today. However in a swift reaction, Secretary General of the association, Solomon Onaghinon in a press release in Lagos Friday, regretted the alleged misinformation of the public by the ministry, insisting that parents should not release their wards.
