Monday, October 4th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Afenifere disowns impostors, says Tuesday congress holds   Felix Ofou GroupPolitics Editor   The Administrative Secretary of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, on Sunday criticised moves by supporters of former factional leader of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa, to cause fresh crisis using the name of Chief Abraham Adesanya to summon an illegal meeting. Odumakin vowed that the planned congress of Afenifere scheduled for Tuesday would hold. �They are only trying to turn back the hand of the clock which is not possible. The congress planned for Tuesday would go on as planned. I do not foresee any hitches and at the end of the day such enemies of progress would be exposed and put to shame,� he said. On insinuations that Adesanya had expressed confidence in the Reuben Fasoranti led executive of Afenifere, he said such claims were baseless, explaining that some faceless elements loyal to Akinfenwa were only trying to drag the name of the elder statesman into the crisis so as to gain undeserved legitimacy. �Adesanya is still recuperating.
