Powerline Ministries rededicate reconstructed building

By Sam Eyoboka
Monday, October 04, 2004

LAGOS—ABOUT N8 million has been spent on the reconstruction work of the administrative complex of Powerline Ministries  in Lagos which was gutted by fire on July 8, 2004 consuming the sound studio and all the tapes of the ministry since inception.
The fire which began from the bishop’s office also affected the entire offices in the administrative block and numerous documents  including some amounts of money meant for the purchase of air tickets for the bishop and some members of his family.

These facts were revealed yesterday by the General Overseer of the Ministry, Bishop Lawrence Osagie at the dedication of the  newly reconstructed building which marked the beginning of this year’s Power Conference at the Wisdom House.
Thanking all those who, one way or the other, solidarised with the church during what the bishop described as “hellish attack  meant to silence us forever,” Osagie acknowledged that the lesson of the hour was that a man’s life does not consist of the  abundance of things he owns.

Recounting the events of July 8, he said: “I stood with my wife and two sons to watch our life-efforts, labour and achievements  burn to ashes. We saw our glory reduced to rubbles. The things we spent our energies and strength to build went into flames  before our eyes.”

Continuing, he said, he was greatly encouraged by the solidarity of friends too numerous to mention, adding “like comrades in  the army, you picked us up like wounded soldiers, dragged us to safety and resuscitated us back to life.”
Osagie then called on Nigerians to acknowledge God always as a miracle working God and that He cannot be limited by the  nation’s prostrate economy, warning that they must be wary of those who go about working magic in the name of the Lord.
