Thursday, October 7th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page ESUT Law Faculty gets N10million  for accreditation By Chukwudi Achife Bureau Chief, Enugu   Enugu State government has given N10 million to its University of Science and Technology (ESUT) to enable it acquire requisite facilitiesto retain the accreditation given its law faculty. Governor Chimaroke Nnamani said while receiving executive members of the outgoing students' union that the government is committed to developing ESUT and that this informed the progress of work in many faculties of the institution including the teaching hospital that is expected to admit its first set of students this month. He said the basic infrastructure at the permanent site of ESUT at Agbani would be ready for use by December 2005, adding that this included the hostels, students' hospital, staff quarters, auditorium, stadium, cafetaria, offices and classrooms. The governor praised the students for not interrupting the academic programme in the last five years that was devoid of strikes by either the students or the lecturers. He also commended them for maintaining a cordial relationship with the school’s administration and the government. President of the union, Mr. Udekwe Chidiebere, praised the governor's landmark achievements in the education sector, especially in ESUT. He requested for more assistance from the government to equip the library and the law faculty. He asked for the provision of adequate security in the school to help curb the seeming intractable menace of campus cults and their violent activities. Copyright� 2004. All Rights Reserved.
