Thursday, October 7th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Ekiti Police invite 10 over alleged ritual killing By David Atalese, Special Correspondent, Ado-Ekiti   The Ekiti State Police Command on Wednesday invited 10 persons including a policeman for questioning over an alleged ritual killing at Oke-Ila area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. Daily Independent gathered that the victim, simply called Sunday, a nine year old primary school boy, was sent on an errand by his mother at about 4 pm on Tuesday but did not return to the house. A source said when he was nowhere to be found a search party was organised at about 9 pm. At about 4 am the following morning, his head and the two hands were found severed from his bodywhile the torso was taken away by the unknown ritual killers. Eyewitnesses said the killers wrote some names inside the rubber bucket he was carrying alleging that they were the names of those who sent them to kill the boy. Police detectives have removed the head and the hands to Oke-Ila Police station for further investigation. Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emman Iyang, said he has not received the report of the incident. “But as soon as we receive the report investigation into the matter would continue,” he said.
