National Confab of Estate Agents Holds Soon
Real Estate
Baring the unforeseen, a national conference of the Estate, Rent & Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) will hold before the year ends.
Announcing this in a release signed by Princess Juliet Ademiluyi, press/information secretary to the president of the association, the body said that the conference was scheduled to hold during its national Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The conference, according to the release, would create a forum for the practising real estate agents in Nigeria "to put heads together and rub minds on finding ways and means (of) fashioning partners/solution (to) a solid operational base, to promote and protect the real estate practice against bastardization and proliferation by quacks and undesirable elements in the society".
The conference will also map out strategies and plans for an enabling statue for the real estate practice "because the law that established the estate surveyors and valuers kept silence on estate agency".
Honourable Rasheed Oyeleye, the association's National Executive President, hinted on this at the swearing in /inauguration ceremony of executive and elders' committees of ERCAAN, Lagos State chapter, recently.
Addressing the committee chairmen on that occasion, the president tasked the inaugurated committees not to rest on their oars, but to ensure that the interest of ERCAAN and her members was not compromised. He said the association's interest should be identified and protected "against any personal /selfish interest of any individual in all ways".
He also charged them to follow up on the memorandum/position papers submitted by the presidency to the Lagos State Government through the state commissioner for housing, in respect of registration of estate agents in Lagos.
Responding, Hon. Johnson Ajikan, ERCAAN Chairman, Lagos State chapter, promised that his team would work tirelessly to live up to the national president's expectation.
