SIR: First ladies who fervently campaign against child abuse should please request their husbands to improve the income levels and quality of lives of people they govern and also desist from looting the public treasury.
These positive measures will drastically reduce the abject poverty in the country and curb the rising incidence of child abuse. Parents and guardians who engage in child abuse have no alternative in the prevailing wave of poverty and destitution unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.
