PDP wins Bauchi by-election From Tashikalmah Hallah, in Bauchi The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over the weekend, won the by-election into the Bauchi federal constituency, Bauchi State. The PDP candidate, Isa Musa Matori, defeated his brother and opponent, Abdullahi Usman Matori, of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), with 71,526 votes as against 38,403 votes. The by-election followed a Supreme Court ruling in July annulling the election of Alhaji Aminu Mohamed Dan Bauchi of the PDP. Announcing the results, the returning officer, Musa Mohamed Inuwa, said a total of 291,952 voters were regist-ered, out of which 113,906 voted while 2,598 ballots were rejected. TO NEXT NEWS PAGE...
