TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12 , 2004           Kano agric comm commends Wudil chairman THE chairman of Wudil local government council, Kano state, has been commended for showing concern to farmers within his are. The commendation was made by commissioner of agriculture and natural resources, Ahmad Garba Riruwai, during his tour of KNARDA trail farms last Friday. Alhaji Riruwai maintained that the chairman character is always needed by an upright leader. The commissioner then called on others to emulate him, and assured farmers in the state of having agricultural inputs suppplied to them in time for next year's farming season. Earlier, the director of KNARDA Zone III, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim who received the commissioner at Jumar Galadima Sabuwa KNARDA maize trail farm, stated that there are about 3,304 trail farms in the area. He then commended the present administration for injecting new farming methods in the state. In his vote of thanks, the chairman of Wudil local government, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Likita, expressed appreciation for the visit and assured farmers of good care through the session. In a related development, as part of his on going tour, the commissioner was received by the managing director of KNARDA, Alhaji Muhammad Umar Kura, at Kwanar Square in Takai local government. Alhaji Kura expressed appreciation to the state government under Malam Ibrahim Shekarau for making farming a priority in the state.
