Babura vows to promote health sector

BABURA local government council of Jigawa state has re-directed its determination to promote healthcare delivery system in the area.

A statement signed by Zuhairu Dayyabu Kanya of information unit said the chairman of the council, Alhaji Aminu Kanta Babura, made the disclosure while addressing health personnel during a seminar held on polio 3rd round immunization exercise at the conference hall of the council.

Alhaji Kanta called on parent and guardians to allow their children and wards to be immunized during the exercise slated to commence on Saturday 9th October, 2004.

He said on its part, the council will do all it could to ensure the full success of the exercise.

Also speaking, the primary health care coordinator in charge of the area, Alhaji Umar Mustapha Aujara, called on staff handling the exercise to redouble their efforts towards the success of the programme.

Alhaji Umar Mustapha said during the second exercise eighty one (81) per cent success was recorded.

On her part, the central facilitator posted to the area, Hajiya Aishatu Aminu Zango, commended the district heads of Babura, Kanya-Babba and Garun Gudinya as well as their village and ward heads for adequately mobilizing their subjects which had greatly assisted in recording much success.

Hajiya Aisha Zango used the occasion to call on women in the area to allow the vaccinators who visit their homes to immunize their children.

In his remarks, the NPI manager of the area, Alhaji Yusuf Aduwa, Kazaure, thanked the primary health care agency in Jahun for releasing enough vaccines during each exercise, which is greatly assisting in recording much success.
