WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13 , 2004           Gwarzo donates 30 tri-cycles to disabled GWARZO local government council of Kano state has donated 30 tri-cycles to some disabled persons in the area. The supervisory counsellor for community development youth sports and culture, Alhaji Ahmed Jibrin has disclosed. Alhaji Jibrin who stated this in an interview in Gwarzo at the weekend also said that the council has purchased 70 wheel-barrows and distributed to youths in order to create employment for them as well as to boost economic activities in the area. He further explained that the local government established a trade centre for girls in order to discourage them from hawking around in the streets. "In this school, the girls would be taught how to make soap, tailoring wearing and many other things", the councilor has added. Alhaji Jibrin also said that in view of the concern the council has for girl child care the local government got a letter of commendation from the state government in this regard.
