JGSG to host culture, tourism jamboree

THE Jigawa state government has approved the hosting of cultural and tourism jamboree to re-activate the local trades that are about to vanish in our society.

A statement by Zuhairu Dayyabu Kanya said that the special assistant to the Governor on culture and tourism, Alhaji Abdu Mammani Maikanti Kanya made the revealation while speaking to newsmen in his office.

He said local trades like blacksmithing, barbing, butchering, tailoring and so on had been taken into consideration during the exhibition.

Alhaji Abdu Mammani also stated that all the 27 local government areas of the state are expected to take part during the two days workshop.

The special assistant said the Jamboree will be made an annual event to attract visitors coming to the state and generate more revenue.

He said people who specialized on various trades and crafts will be invited to come and display their skills in order to imbibe the sprit of patriotism and cultural heritage.

Alhaji Abdu Mammani used the occasion to commend the commissioner in the ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim D. Salisu and the entire staff for their support and dedication at all times and urged them to sustained the tempo.

The special assistant further expressed satisfaction for citing the ministry of culture and Tourism at Babura which will no doubt brings rapid and accelerated development not only to Babura alone but the entire Jigawa state at large.

Alhaji Abdu Mammani advised people in the state to give their maximum support and cooperation to the government to enable it executes more people's oriented policies and programmes.

He therefore warned them to shun anything capable of tarnishing the good image of the state in the eyes of bad elements.
