Wednesday, October 13 2004 Vol 17 No.30 News Editorial Politics Opinion Features Foreign News The Arts Sports Education Business Money/Market Travels/Tourism Property/Environment Columnists NDDC presents master plan to stakeholders TONY ITA ETIM, Port Harcourt FINER details of the vision and programmes of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) are to be made public to key stakeholders via the presentation of a masterplan to the group. A schedule made available to Daily Champion showed that the NDDC board and management have been divided into two teams with chairman Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, leading Team A, while the managing director, Chief Emmanuel Aguriavwodo is in charge of Team B. The presentation will begin in Cross River State tomorrow and the events include an evening programme with Gov. Donald Duke and a general stakeholders’ forum next day. Ugochukwu will lead his team to Abia State on October 18 and 19, Imo, October 21 and 22, Akwa Ibom, October 25 and 26 and Rivers State, October 28 and 29. Aguariaviwdo’s team would present the masterplan to Bayelsa stakeholders on October 18 and 19; Delta, October 21 and 22; Edo, October 25 and 26 and Ondo, October 28 and 29. Both teams would present the draft masterplan to the National Assembly on November 2, and November 3 would be the turn of the Presidency and Federal Executive Council (FEC). The donor community who are NDDC partners will take a look at the masterplan on November 4 at the Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The commission will dedicate the masterplan to God during a church service in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and President Olusegun Obasanjo and the nine Niger Delta governors are expected to attend while an international conference will hold from November 29 to 30.
