Low Traffic on Port Harcourt Roads From Donald Andoor and Okon Bassey in Port Harcourt Heavy traffic associated with Port Harcourt roads in Rivers State yesterday became lighter as the strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the increase in the petroleum products entered day two. Some vehicles that plied the roads exhibited fresh leaves on the front windscreen as a mark of solidarity and support of the strike. Most petrol stations in the state capital remained lucked yesterday and few ones that opened have long queue of cars waiting to buy the product. Meanwhile, Shell Petro-leum Development Company (SPDC) branch of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) Port Harcourt has called on all field workers, fire service and its members working in the field to return immediately in compliance to the sit-at-home strike. A statement signed by the branch Chairman, Mr. Emily Onyia said the directive was in compliance to the Trade Union Congress (UTC) ordering its members to abide to the on going sit at home strike.
