'Action 'll Continue, Until...' From Yinka Kolawole in Lokoja Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Labour Cong-ress (NLC) vowed that the on-going strike would remain in force until the deadline given by the national body elapses. Also, the motorcycle union, and the state transport workers were also being mobilised to ensure the success of the strike. The union lamented what it considered as government arrogance on the issue at stake and expressed disappointment that the national body was never given other option than to embark on strike. The state chairman of the NLC said the government's undemocratic posture has been responsible for the conflict with the labour union. He described the setting up of a committee to cushion the effect of the fuel hike as a great deceit, adding that the Federal Government was only bidding for time. The chairman noted that the latest fuel price hike came at a time when most Nigerians are impoverished due to economic hardship the government itself created. Gates to government offices in the state capital remained under lock and key while banks were yet to attend to their customers.
