Nyame Forecloses Ex-Deputy's Reinstatement

Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame has ruled out the possibility of reinstating his former deputy, Alhaji Uba Maigari as issues regarding his impeachment have become a forgone conclusion.
Nyame, who dropped this hint during a Press Dinner held at the Presidential Lodge, Jalingo reiterated that not even the Supreme Court can fault the decision of the state House of Assembly concerning the impeachment of his former deputy.
He explained that during the impeachment saga, he and the leadership of the State House of Assembly were invited to Abuja by the National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP and they were told to go home and address the problems and the party never faulted the decision of the House as being insinuated in some quarters.
Nyame said the NWC of the party under the leadership of Chief Audu Ogbeh was trying to instill discipline in the party and dismissed insinuations that both of them were asked to reinstate his former deputy.
Nyame said his administration has done much on healthcare delivery system by constructing a new Specialist Hospital in Jalingo as well as the renovation of other hospitals at Wukari including the re-award of contract for the rehabilitation of Gembu General Hospital.
He said work have reached various stages of completion on Wukari, Ibi and Zing Water Works, stressing that a competent contractor would be engaged to supply diesel and other lubricants to enable the generating plant pump water to the towns.
The governor, however, said his administration has done a lot in the area of agriculture by providing tractors and fertilizer and other farm inputs to cooperatives in the State to boost food production.
Nyame expressed sadness with Chairman and People of Donga Local Government Council for their inability to implement government directives to relocate the temporary headquarters from Mararaba to Donga town.
He disclosed that contract have been awarded for the construction of streets roads in Jalingo metropolis and expressed the hope the contractor would mobilise to site soon.
