Olajengbesi Faces Major Surgery The Super Eagles have suffered a massive blow ahead of their crucial World Cup tie on Sunday against Zimbabwe after defender Seyi Olajengbesi suffered a serious knee injury which will require surgery and will sideline him for at least six months while featuring German club Freiburg at the weekend. "Seyi suffered a serious knee injury," said Steve Ebikeme of Sports Market-ing, the player's management agency. "He now has to go for an operation, meaning he can't make it to Harare." He added: "It's just too bad after he has broken into the first team and was doing very well." Reports from Germany said Olajengbesi tore his cruciate ligaments during the Bundesliga match against Borussia Monchengladbach and had to be replaced by trainer Volker Finke before half time in a move that greatly weakened SC Freiburg. According to German sports paper Kicker; the 23-year-old defender will be out of action for at least six months. The Eagles defence for Sunday's all-important clash has been further depleted by the absence of George Abbey and Everton defender Joseph Yobo through injury. Yobo has also been ruled out as he is still nursing a knee injury and needs to rest it. Yobo was missing when Everton held Manchester United to a draw in an English Premiership clash on Monday.
