Lagos State Governor,Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has dismissed the criticism of his administration by the Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, saying the minister is a neophyte politically.
Tinubu, who spoke with newsmen on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, advised Ogunlewe to concentrate on his jobs rather than engaging in baseless criticism of his administration.
The minister, in an interview during his visit to Abeokuta last week, described Tinubus administration as a failure.
Ogunelewe said Tinubu had not fulfilled his electoral promises, which he said included the construction of the fourth mainland bridge and provision of milk to primary school pupils.
Dismissing the ministers criticism, the governor said, He (Ogunlewe) did not succeed politically in Lagos as an AD member.
That was why he crossed to PDP.
He was soundly and roundly defeated in our party.
He is still bitter about it.
Tinubu said Ogunlewe was going beyond his brief by engaging in baseless criticism of his administration, when many projects, including Owerri-Onitsha Road, were in deplorable conditions.
The governor stated that Ogunlewe should be grateful to him for getting the ministerial job, adding that he assisted President Olusegun Obasanjo in winning the state in the 2003 election.
He said, Obasanjo would have lost Lagos State without my support and PDP would not have assigned that ministry (Works) to Lagos State.
