Bwari has highest number of illegal immigrants – Immigration officer By Williams Eluma The chief superintendent of immigration in charge of Bwari area council, Mr. Moradeyo has revealed that the council has the highest number of illegal immigrants in the FCT. According to him he would make his priority to chase them out of the council. Mr. Moradeyo also called on the residents of the council to take the advantage of the issuance of ECOWAS travel certificate and passport presently going on stressing that the documents are issued in order to curb illegal immigrants into the country. The immigration officer made the call while presenting ECOWAS certificates to some principal staff of Bwari area council at the council’s chamber recently. The immigration officer noted that these illegal immigrants took advantage of the many borders to gain entrance into the country and by pretence take over our jobs. The immigration officer further stated that, the certificates are computerised, adding that if somebody is caught at any border with the certificate and is being suspected the computer will detect if the passport is genuine or not. Mr. Moradeyo also disclosed that henceforth, recruitment into the immigration service would be done on local government basis. MORE ON ABJ....
