Friday, October 15th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page NEPA plunges Bauchi into darkness   By Godwin Egbara, Special Correspondent, Bauchi   Despite the assurance given by the management of the National Electric Power (NEPA) that the power outage in Bauchi State would be rectified within hours, for the third day running economic activities have been paralysed following continued power failure in the state. As a result of this development, price of photocopy business have increased. Operators of business centres have effected increase in the prices of their services as they have to depended on generator to provide service. Our correspondent further gathered that due to the continued power failure, handset owners have to pay N30 per hour to recharge their battery while other charge as much as N50 for the same period. Worst hit are the operators of business centre as they have to depend solely on power to provide services to customers. However, price of photocopying has gone up from N3 to N5 per copy. On the other hand, typesetting price has equally gone up. Operators of business centres charge between N50 - N80 per copy to typeset documents.
