Also on the list are the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar; business tycoon, Chief Sonny Odogwu; venerated novelist,  Professor Chinua Achebe; Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe; Senate Deputy President, Alhaji Ibrahim Mantu and Major  General Alwali Kazir (rtd) all of whom are to be awarded the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) Chief Shonekan will  receive the country’s highest award of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR). The conferment of the awards, according to Inter-Governmental Affairs, Youths Development and Special Duties Minister, Mr.  Frank Nweke, has been scheduled for Abuja on December 16.
