More Rivers Commissioners Sworn-in From Okon Bassey in Port Harcourt Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, has sworn-in another set of five commissioners bringing to 16, the number of commissioners so far inaugurated to form the re-constituted State Executive Council. Returnee Commissioners, Dr. Solomon Enyinda retained his portfolio at the Ministry of Health, Hon. Elem Chukwu Ogbowu was re-assigned to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, while Chief Allwell Onyesoh retained his portfolio as Commissioner for Sports. Chief Emeh Glory, who was sworn-in last week as the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry was re-assigned to Ministry of Transport. Two new appointees, Mr. Clapton Ogolo is in-charge of Higher Institutions. While inaugurating the commissioners, Odili urged indigenes of the state to watch members of the reconstituted cabinet for lapses in the discharge of their functions. He reminded the commissioners that he (Odili) would not hesitate to drop any of them found wanting in their constitutional responsibilities just as they would be encouraged and supported to perform their duties satisfactorily. The governor challenged them to render purposeful leadership and service, which demands discipline, morality and frugality, saying his administration would not condone the ugly attitude displayed by members of the former cabinet. Odili advised the commissioners to make themselves accessible to the people they are to serve and answer all telephone calls and not to switch off their phones as most of them did in the last cabinet.
