Restore Old Price of Petroleum Products - Monarch From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo The only panacea to the economic growth of the nation was for the Federal Govern-ment to revert to the old price of petroleum products in the country. A traditional ruler of Faaji in Odo-Otin Local Government Council area of Osun State, Oba Olaleke Adeyimika I, disclosed this at the town shortly after receiving his staff of office from Olagunsoye Oyinlola. According to him, "The constant jack-up of prices of petroleum products would not do us any good in the country but rather would continue to worsen the nation's economy." He said the recent increase in the prices of fuel products has continued to have adverse effects on the masses especially those at the grassroots. Oba Adeyimika added that, "Our people now cannot afford the price of kerosene not to talk of paying the high rate of transportation to carry their goods and services to the local government." "If the price is reversed to the old one, the masses would have chance to move about to pursue their day-to-day businesses which would go a long way to boost the economic growth of the nation," he stressed. Oba Adeyimika who used the occasion to call on the indigenes of the town to come home and invest stated that the present government under Governor Oyinlola has provided an enabling conducive environment for business. The traditional ruler said that the state has continued to witness tremendous achievements during the reign of Governor Oyinlola in the area of roads, health, education, among others. Oba Adeyimika then commended Governor Oyinlola for upgrading the status of Afaaji of Faaji to a second class recognised chieftaincy title-holder in the state.
