Police Arraign 33 in Kaduna From Agaju Madugba in Kaduna As the four-day nationwide warning strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) ended yesterday,the police in Kaduna arraigned 33 persons before a Chief Magistrate's Court,over their alleged roles in the strike in Kaduna. With a three count charge of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly and inciting disturbance, prosecuting police officer, Inspector Aveve Orpin, explained to the court that the accused persons were arrested by a team of policemen attached to Tudun Wada and environs, on October 11,2004. He said that the suspects created fear among residentts when the accused cconstituted themselves into an illegal assemb,burned tyres and chanted slogans,contrary to sections 96,102 and 114 of the Penal Code. The accused pleaded not guilty while the court granted them N30,000 bail each and one surely in like sum The case will come up for mention on November 10, 2004.
