Gov, Cleric Advise Muslims Kwara By Godwin Haruna Kwara State governor, Dr Bukola Saraki and the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Habeebullahi Kamalideen muslims in the state to allow the lesson and spirit of the month guide their daily activities. In a goodwill Ramadan message through his Chief Press Secretary, Tajudeen Kareem, the governor urged muslims to supplicate to Allah, and be disciplined at all times. "Truly, our nation is going through trying times and our people have persevered over time,"Almighty Allah, the Supreme Commander of all times will certainly not abandon Nigeria in this turbulent period". Saraki advised them to give the on-going economic reforms of the federal government a chance, though agreeing that the reforms may be painful,'but they are certainly inevitable. The Grand Mufti in his message admonished both the leadership and the followership to allow the lessons of the month be a guide to a prosperous and crisis free polity. The 97 years old cleric reminded the fasting muslims of the need to obey constituted authorities just as those in authority should learn to allow their reforms to have human face and masses oriented. "There is suffering in the land. Poverty appears to be the companion of the people and government should not pretend as if nothing is happening that is why the leaders must be pro-active and humane in their policies and reforms" Sheikh Kamalideen urged government to embrace dialogue with the opposition and refrain from acts that will make democracy a curse and not a blessing to Nigerians.
