ANPP Cautioned Over Move to Recall Aminu
From Abel Orih-Idoma in Yola

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Yola, Adamawa state, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, has called on All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the state to desist from further heightening the tension that erupted within the PDP recently following a move to recall Senator Jibrin Aminu from the senate for undisclosed offences.

Eze who made the call in Yola, further advised the ANPP to rather concentrate on finding lasting solutions to the problems that have torn their members apart in the state instead of trying to sow seeds of discord in the PDP.

According to him, "the unnecessary intervention of the ANPP in the PDP's affair just to find ways of sowing seeds of discord amongst our members is uncalled for. The move to recall Prof. Jubril Aminu from the senate is an internal affair, which we believe can be amicably ironed out within our party, and without any business of the ANPP.

"It has not gone beyond the intervention of the PDP for members of the ANPP to be concerned with especially now that they have serious problems bedeviling their party in the state".

Eze, however, opined that as stakeholders who should be concerned about the progress of the state, the party should know the limit of its involvement adding that unless invited for necessary contribution, they are not allowed to get involved in the problems of PDP which I know would be adequately tackled to the satisfaction of all members of the PDP."

Similarly, the Igbo opinion leader expressed concern that unsubstantiated allegations of involvement and sponsorship were heaped on Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the state governor, Boni Haruna, to recall Senator Jibrin Aminu from the senate.

He pointed out that no sane person would agree with such an allegation that the Vice President and the governor who were instrumental to the election of Aminu as a Senator under the banner of the PDP could later turn against him, stressing that such allegation cannot hold water any where.

He stated that even if there is any problem within the party that cannot be resolved internally, the party caucus would always seek the intervention of HRH Lamido Adamawa, Dr. (Alhaji) Aliyu Mustapha with a view to ensuring peace in the state chapter of the PDP.

Eze also appealed to the people to exercise restraint with the Boni Haruna administration, stressing that he is convinced that the administration is poised to entrench the much needed dividends of democracy before the end of next year, appealing that all PDP stakeholders should continue to support and cooperate with the party as the dividends of democracy are not farfetched.
