Asari Denies Receiving Bribe from FG Leader of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, has denied receiving any form of bribe from the Federal Government. Asari said this in reaction to speculation that leaders of the NDPVF received bribes worth millions of naira from President Olusegun Obas -anjo, advising that such rumours should be regarded as false and ill-fated. Meanwhile, Asari and other NDPVF leaders have, in a statement, assured the Ijaw nation that its struggle remains ``positively on course''. According to the statement: we firmly stand by the resolutions of the peace accord arrived at with President Olusegun Obasanjo. "We wish to inform the global community that the sustenace of the peace accord could be determined by the Nigerian state's prompt and proactive response to the core issues of resource control and self-determination of the Ijaws.'' The NDPVF then urged "all Ijaws at home and in the diaspora, to be keenly alert of the political and economic dimensions of the struggle, to avoid falling prey to political swindlers."
