Anambra South: Uba Files Charges Against Ukachukwu From Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja Senator Ugochukwu Uba has filed a suit in court asking that his challenger in the Anambra South Senatorial district seat, Hon. Nicholas Ukachukwu, his brother, Linus, and three others be committed to prison for contempt of court for attempting to disrupt the proceedings of the court when judgement was being delievered in his (Uba) appeal. Uba, in a motion on notice filed in the Court of Appeal, Enugu, sought the order of the court citing acts of wilful disrespect, uproars and threat to violence on an open court by Ukachukwu, his brother, Linus, as well as Messrs. Bonty Onuigbo, Ndubuisi Okafor and George Uchenna Okpala-Unaegbu last February 26. The grounds for the appeal are that: The persons committed the acts of contempt inside the court room while the court was in session delivering judgement in this appeal. The acts were done deliberately to impugn on the dignity and honour of the court. If this application is not granted the dignity of the Court of Appeal will suffer unprecedented damage.
