Aminu Slams NASS Over NFA Budget From Juliana Taiwo in Abuja Former Nigeria Football Association (NFA) Chair-man, Col. Abdulmumini Aminu (rtd), has described as a 'disaster' the approval of a paltry sum of N108 million for the prosecution of NFA activities for the whole year by the National Assembly, stressing the need for them to be educated on the importance to increase the funding. He called on the Minister of Sports Col. Musa Mohammed, to use those who should know to start now lobbying the National Assembly and also hold an orientation programme for them to understanding that sports deserves more funding. Aminu, who was also a former Commander Brigade of Guards and former Governor of Borno State, said even smaller countries like Niger had a larger budget for its football association. "Approving just N108 million for the NFA for the whole year is not just ridiculous but absurd particularly for a country like Nigeria and all the money we have. That amount would be gulped by just one international engagement hence it is very much important that those in the National Assembly are made to understand that," he said.
