FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22 , 2004           SERA clears lunatic from Kano streets By SHUAIBU SANI BAGWAI A total of fifteen lunatics who hitherto roamed the streets of Kano metropolis have been evacuated to rehabilitation centres for proper care. The executive secretary of the Kano state Emergency Relif and Rehabilitation Agency, Alhaji Balarabe Muhammad disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Daily Triumph recently. He said the excercise began shortly before the commemcement of Ramadan fasting, explaining that the effort was to use the blissful month to gain rrehabilitation of the patients. Alhaji Muhammad said that the affected lunatics were provided with clothing materials food items, leather soap and barbing materials. He said the affected were repatriated to Wudil, Sumaila and Gaya psyhiatric centres, pledging that the exercise will be a continues one in order to keep Kano streets free from insane persons. The SERARA chief executive also appealed to the rich and non-governmental organizations in the state to contribute positively toward the survival of mankind.
