FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22 , 2004           Governors want to destroy ANPP, says MP From Mu'awuya B. Idris, Dutse A member of federal House of Representatives from Jigawa state, Alhaji Faruk Adamu has alleged plan by some ANPP Governors to destroy the party. He told journalists in Dutse on Monday that it was alleged that six of the ANPP governors who were re-elected for second term have a bandoned the party adding that each one of them is campaigning for one PDP Presidential candidate or another to set relevance in 2007. Alhaji Adamu gave reference on Governor Attahir Bafarawa who is campaigning for PDP presidential aspirant. He lamented that because of the situation ANPP finds itself, frictions were created within the party, adding "this will not augur well for ANPP in 2007 election". "These governors are creating problem for our party because they don't like General Buhari," he added. The lawmaker further said "we are elected under the banner of ANPP, we have no reason to dump the party". Alhaji Adamu explained that the future of ANPP is in the hand of those elected under the party and "we should protect and ensure its survival for our own interest". "We are pursing a court case, we should allow it to die, he opined. Alhaji Adamu reminded ANPP governor's that PDP is a dead party as Nigerians have lost hope on the leaders elected under the party.
