OSF Condemns Attack on Daniel By Malachy Agbo South West Headquarters of Obsanjo Solidarity Forum (OSF) has warned politicians and other individuals against trivialising and politicising the barbaric and uncivilised attack of Governor Gbenga Daniel and his wife, Yeye Olufunke by students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, last Tuesday. The organsation in condemning the incident as a very serious one called the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Tafa Balogun to invoke an independent investigating team to probe the incident extensively to determine whether or not politicians masterminded the attack as alleged. The statement signed by Alhaji Lekan Yusuff, Chairman, Task force on OSF, South West of Nigeria, recalled that since Governor Daniel accused the students and alleged the involvement of Chief Segun Osoba, politicians have been making hasty statements without finding out the real facts behind the matter. "It is not in interest of the nation to trivialise a serious incident over which the Ogun State Governor as well as the State Government had issued statements, hence the need for a deep Police probe," OSF said. While rebuking the action of Ilaro students in totality, the statement observed that it is very unfortunate that students could treat Governor Daniel, reputed for high class performances and humilty the way they had done.
