Adamawa House Adopts Report on Agriculture, Others From Abel Orih Idoma in Yola Adamawa State House of Assembly has adopted the reports of its joint committees on Agriculture, Environment, Health, Human Services, Works and Housing on the dilapidated nature of the Yola modern abattoir. Moving the motion to consider the report at the floor of the House, Mr. Yusuf Gambo, representing Guyuk constituency, said the building of the abattoir has completely deteriorated and the roof blown off while the drainage system has totally collapsed. The committees recommended that in order to salvage the abattoir from its present state of disrepair, government should commence its renovation without further waste of time. For efficient and effective rehabilitation work to be carried out, operations in the modern abattoir would be suspended and a temporary site be constructed. Part of the recommendation also advised government to review upward the present monthly running cost of N16,000:00, considering the expenditure involved.
