Bauchi Disburses N100m on Car Loan From Segun Awofadeji in Bauchi As part of efforts to enhance the welfare of its workforce, the Bauchi State Government says it has so far disbursed over N100 million under its Car Loan Revolving Fund Scheme. Disclosing this in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday at the Government House, Bauchi, Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Haruna Alfa Ahmed said over 500 civil servants have so far benefited from the programme, which he said was revitalised by the present administration when it came into power in 1999. Ahmed added that the programme was geared towards enabling civil servants to own vehicles, thereby improving their efficiency and productivity saying that the civil service remained the engine room of the state's administration. The commissioner also disclosed that over N40 Million has been disbursed by the government under its motorcycle/bicycle loan to civil servants in which over 1,230 civil servants have benefited. He added that the state has also disbursed over N73.4 Million as motorcycle and bicycle loan to both civil servants and the public under its poverty eradication programme in addition to another N7,345,500. While assuring all civil servants that the revolving fund will be a continuous one and disbursement will be equitably done without bias or sentiment, Ahmed appealed to civil servants to continue to put on their best for the overall development of the state and the nation at large.
