Katsina PDP Blames Instability on Faction From Jare Ilelaboye in Katsina Factions within Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Mashi Local Govern-ment Council of Kat-sina State have been identified as the major factor of instability in the administration of the council. The emergence of the factions had caused disunity among PDP supporters of which an alleged N5 million drainage contract in one of the council's villages had added impetus to the crisis-ridden PDP supporters. Sources closed to the council told THISDAY that a contract was awarded to one of PDP elders for the construction of drainage facilities might have caused the crisis. The contract cost N1.4 million and was said to be done according to specification, but some of the council's elders disagreed. The sources added that many of the party bigwigs in the area were in the habit of causing one problem or the other among their supporters and that the award of contract should not form any basis to cause confusion within the local government administration.
