Bauchi Assembly Passes 3 Bills, Goes on Recess From Segun Awofadeji in Bauchi Bauchi State House of Assembly has passed three bills with a vow to continue to churn out more bills and resolutions that would impact positively on the well being of the citizenry just as its members have commenced a 3-week recess. The Assembly has also received and adopted the report of the Education Com-mittee and given extension to the Finance and Economic Development Committee to carefully study and conclude work on the Bauchi Law 2004. The bills include Local Government Establishment and Administration (Amend-ment) Law, the Former Governors and Deputy Governors Pension Law and the Law to Establish Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (BASEMA). Out of the bills, the Local Government Establishment and Administration Amend-ment Law was the only and first to be initiated by the Assembly while the rest were received from the Executive arm. The bills passed on Local Government Establishment and Administration provides that all Chairmen of Local Government Councils in the state submit before the Honourable House, their yearly budget proposals for approval.
