NATIONAL NEWS Ilaro crisis: Daniel appeals for calm By Kolawole Larewaju Saturday, October 23, 2004 ABEOKUTA — Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State yesterday appealed to the people of the state to remain calm and law abiding as the law enforcement agency has commenced full scale investigation into the recent crisis at Ilaro. The governor stated this today while receiving the Yewa Awori youth agenda forum YAYAF who paid him a solidarity visit at government house, Abeokuta. He reiterated that nobody should try and take law into their hands in an attempt to revenge pointing out that only god would judge every man according to their deeds. “What has happended has happened I wish to enjoin the people especially the youth to be law abiding, you should not engage in any form of violence or destruction of property this will be unlawful let the law take its course”.Daaniel cautioned. While thanking YAYAF for the show of concern the Governor assured that he would not be distracted by any form of intimidation but would remained focused to deliver his electoral promises to the people. Earlier the president of the yewa awori nyouth agenda forum , Mr Kayode Oni has expressed concern on the attack pointing out that it was the handiworkof the enemy of progress.
