The pledge was made by the State Commissioner of Information, Alh. Ibrahim Gidado (Tafarkin Sakkwato) while receiving the newly posted NBC Zonal director, Malam Usman Akinobanye, in his office, recently. Alh. Ibrahim Gidado congratulated the Zonal Director on his recent appointment and urged him to consolidate on the cordial relationship established by his predecessor between the Ministry and the NBC. He assured the Zonal Director that Broadcast Media in the State would continue to produce programmes that educate, inform societies citizens on their civic responsibilitie as well as report reactions of the people to the Government on some of its policies. The Commissioner also disclosed that the State Government has paid four million Naira to the NBC for the renewal of broadcast license in respect of its stations at Goronyo, Isa, Tambuwal and Sokoto. On the proposed permanent site for the Zonal office of the NBC, the Commissioner assured of his support to make project a reality. Speaking earlier, the Zonal Director Malam Usman Akinobanye told the Commissioner he was in the Ministry to pay homage and seek for his co-operation as he assumed office in the State. He said the Ministry was very important for the success of his assignment.
