Last Updated: Friday, October 22nd, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Fayose warns councilors to stop backbiting By David Atalese, Special Correspondent, Ado-Ekiti   Vice chairmen and councillors of local governments in Ekiti State were on Thursday warned not to constitute themselves as stumbling blocks to the progressive works of their chairmen. The Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, gave the warning at a meeting with them in Ado Ekiti, saying that the way they have been confronting their chairmen left much to be desired. He said that their actions amounted to lack of discipline and portrayed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a party without leaders and warned them not to take the law into their hands. Fayose told them that their three years term in office was too short for them to misbehave “because three years will come and go but whatever you do will outlive your tenure. but it appears that you have grown wings and this should not be so”. The governor told them that as the governor and one of the leaders of the party, “we shall resist any act of indiscipline.
