Fidelis Nwoye, who was arrested at Gada Biyu motor park in Jos with the wrapped substances recently, told Upper Area Court in Kabong that he was a professional plumber but whenever he had no work to do, he hawked Indian hemp and was mainly patronised by soldiers. He said it was wrong for the prosecutor to refer to him as unemployed, because he was trained to do plumbing jobs but he did not get jobs to do always. According to Police First Information Report, a team of detectives from the anti-robbery squad of the Plateau State CID Jos, had arrested Nwoye, suspecting him to be a member of a gang that hawk dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in the town and environs. Nwoye was charged with being a vagabond and in possession of substances suspected to be India help.
