    Ndigbo retreat begins tomorrow in Asaba

    CAJETAN MMUTA, Asaba

    A two-day leadership retreat of Ndigbo starts tomorrow in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

    Organised by Aka Ikenga and Ohanaeze, the apex Igbo socio-cultural and political organisation, the retreat which will hold at Grand Hotel and Resort Centre has the theme: Njikoka: A Search for Fresh Standards.

    Science and Technology Minister, Prof. Barth Nnaji, is expected to deliver a keynote address while a Director at the Pan-African University, Lagos, Prof. Pat Utomi will speak on Reforms and Future of Ndigbo, Economy and Economic Empowerment, Ndigbo in Search of Strategy.

    Senate President Adolphus Wabara and former Vice-President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, are expected to lead cream of other Igbo personages to Asaba.

    Others expected at the grand parley include the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, Finance Minister, Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the host governor Chief James Ibori and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dr. Sam Egwu as well as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Opara, former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. Joe Irukwu, (SAN), Dr. Matthew Mbu, chairman Council of Eastern States and president Izu Anioma, Chief P. O. Ozieh.
